We called into Coral Bay for a quick look, then hopped on the road again. It was beautiful - the colour of the ocean is indescribable around here. I probably should explain our rush too - basically we are being moved on, are unwelcome in the area, since none of us had factored in the school hols here. Everyone in Perth has just migrated north and there is no room at the inn.
We ended up at Waroora Station and even though we had booked, were still placed in an overflow, long grassed site, a little ways from decent swimming / snorkelling beach. We consequently decided one night would be enough. We were definitely compensated for with the sunset though! The sky stayed red for about an hour after these photos were taken. Amazing!
And a long while later:
A couple of hotties testing the waters.
We spent the next day driving, for what seemed like forever - very boring drive. We have stayed the past two nights at Hamelin Station, about 110k from Monkey Mia. Great station stay with fantastic facilities and the friendliest of people. We saw the dolphins this morning and headed out for a drive in Francois Peron National Psrk - a little 4WD to please the boys and their toys. Then I think the highlight of our day was to visit Hamelin Pool to see the stromatolites - wow! We found out that living fossils actually = rocks (to us anyway). Obviously to marine scientists they are full of tiny living organisms with even bigger descriptors that are building rock.
Very obedient dolphins lined up for their feed.
